Who we are
Beyond Universitas (BUSA) is a registered Private Voluntary Organisation
(PVO) committed to promoting environmental sustainability, climate
resilience, and community empowerment in Zimbabwe.
The organisation was established in response to growing environmental
challenges affecting both rural and urban communities, including climate
change impacts, biodiversity loss, poor waste management, land
degradation, and limited access to clean and safe water.
Through community-based programming, strategic partnerships, and
evidence-driven approaches, BUSA works to strengthen local capacity,
promote sustainable natural resource management, and contribute to
Zimbabwe’s national development priorities and global environmental
commitments.
BUSA is guided by strong governance, professional expertise, and a
commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive development.
Why our work matters
Zimbabwe continues to face increasing environmental challenges that directly affect livelihoods, food security, public health, and long-term sustainable development. Climate change impacts such as prolonged droughts, erratic rainfall patterns, land degradation, and biodiversity loss are placing growing pressure on both rural and urban communities. These challenges are further intensified by pollution and inadequate waste management systems. Addressing these issues is essential to building resilient communities, protecting natural resources, and ensuring a sustainable future for present and future generations.
